The Panamanian cultural diversity consists of indigenous and Afro-Caribbean communities that have rich histories which includes the Caribbean and Latin American subcultures with influences of the Spanish conquistadors and the Afro-Colonials. This cultures (afro-caribeans) descended from slaves brought to Panama during the colonial period, and the Afro-Antilleans are descendants from migrant workers who came from countries such as Jamaica, Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, and Martinique.
